14- Plazas- Vilnlius Plaza, Rosa Luxemburg Garden, Harvard Plaza

 Vilnlius Plaza

I like the design of this, the use of bold curved lines dipping in and out of the ground are an interesting focal in the design of the space. Being consistent throughout the space the use of the slick black and the vertical lined paving make the space look contemporary and sophisticated and elongate the space. The lighting on the underside of the lines brings an indoor feel at night feeling like a ceiling above the plaza, it feels like a safe place being so well-lit at night. The use of plants rolling with the lines adds playfulness and the seating feels interactive with many ways to use it such as lounging, sitting, leaning or climbing.

Rosa Luxemburg
This plaza is interesting, being partially integrated in 2 spaces, semi indoors under an industrial frame and being outdoors. The covered garden are is linear, the rusted colour steel contrasts well with the lush green planting. The structure of the space is in a grid-like format, using right angles, emphasising that industrial feel. The use of height is used to exaggerate the format of the space, the solid wall of the building on one side giving a sense of enclosure and the frame wrapping around to further emphasises that with the frame using the overhead space it creates an indoor-like feel by giving it 4 corners above.

Harvard Plaza

I like the purpose of the space and the flexibility it provides for it's users. The plaza has a soft simple design with furniture easily moved. The use of light materials helps this space feel open and relaxed with the bed brick surrounding boxing the area creating a room. It feels very social with the benches, tables and the intended use for the space.
