The High Line
I really like this image of the High Line, I like the juxtaposition of the industrial remains with the lush and flourishing plants it works so well and compliments as a result. The old machinery combined gives the look of nature reclaiming its land. The planting choice is mostly made up of shrubs and trees. This project was about the reclamation of space, the thin barrier between the paving and the vegetation. the planting is green with pops of colour and varying textures. I like the contrast between the vegetation and the concrete materials New York is infamous for.

I really enjoyed learning more about the High Line, I liked this photograph as well. The rich copper colours stand out against the buildings with the lighting showing the way. The ability to enjoy the space in every season is apparent through the choice of plants, using the lighting to highlight the dryness and using warm lighting to turn it into copper-looking structures and bringing them to life.
