5- Tatton Park Concepts
We had 2 different concepts starting out for the RHS Tatton Park Longboarders exhibition.
Doomsday Clock- A statement about the impacts of war and climate change, how it's the worry of the world and impacts further than we care to admit. Fear can be a drive for positive change.
Women in Art- The exploration of women using art as comping mechanisms and expressions of themselves through the medium of art. The exploration of womanhood and trauma in a conscious and subconscious lens.
We ended up choosing Women in Art since it'll be easier to explore themes as our group is made up of women with a grasp and experience on the subject. We also felt there would be interesting material pre-existing. In addition, the RHS show doesn't show gardens that have a dark or negative message, so we are playing to the interests of the RHS. We did explore the narrative of the Doomsday Clock further, however, it was difficult trying to squeeze so many aspects of this concept as well as the impending negative feelings this theme would evoke, you can't put a positive spin on it.
