23- Elevator Pitch- Tatton Park

Alney Island is a site east of Gloucester full of potential as a green space, being a flood plain protecting the city. The site is surrounded by the river Severn with the busy A46 road cutting through the site .

The concept of design is Winds of Change, embracing the ever-changing dynamic of the wind and the unpredictable nature of climate. This concept explores Alney Island’s ability to adapt to the changes in the environment and change the minds of those who visit the site. How we treat our environment and what it can provide for us.

The design echos the lucid movement of the wind. How it wraps around the site and interacts with structures. This design is reflected through the paths, its art sculptures, woodlands, and expanded wetlands.

The site is divided into 3 areas- cultural- holding events to draw people into the site, educational- with a nature centre and workshops and Physical health; with a sports centre and park.

This site has the potential to draw people away from the chaos of the city, into a site which is a breath of fresh air with activities
